Updates

So I don't want to completely give up blogging but just can't find the time to do it! I wanted to post quickly about what's going on at our house and put up a family picture. One of the biggest decisions we are being faced with is where to accept a job. Jordan is done with his MBA at BYU in April 2012 and had received an offer from Savage Services, who he did his summer internship with. It would be in Auburn, Maine! Crazy.....NEVER thought I would live there. Jordan loves it there and the job would be a good fit. He has also interviewed with Johnson & Johnson, Mars (who he has a fly back interview for in Nov.), Chrysler, New York Life, and who knows what else he will drum up. We are supposed to hear back from all of these companies in the next few weeks. He is doing such a good job and I am SO proud of him. All his time away from us is really going to pay off in the long run. We'll know by Christmas where we'll be moving next Spring! I can't wait to know so I can start planning :)
I have been a busy mommy of two healthy, beautiful boys. Often I feel VERY overwhelmed that I can't handle the job and need more breaks but so often I feel overwhelmingly grateful for my blessings and that I can be a mom at all. Both pregnancies were so scary and knowing that I can't have anymore babies (too risky), I just have to remind myself to enjoy these moments because they pass so quickly. Who needs sleep and alone time right?
I don't have anything more exciting to say but we are doing so good and looking forward to our future!

Home Sweet Home

I got to come home from the hospital on Monday, and it was one of the best days of my life. To sit on my own couch, sleep in my own bed next to my husband, and especially to be home with my sweet Abram was such a joy. As I put him to bed that night, I cried like a baby because I was so happy to put him to sleep. It had been 3 1/2 weeks since I kissed him goodnight......pure bliss in my eyes. I am still enjoying the regular things in life, like MY shower and not having to try and cover huge lines coming out of my body with plastic and tape before I get in. And people not waking me up every 5 minutes for vital signs or pills. And taking care of my almost one month old little Jeremiah with Daddy by my side. It's been wonderful and things are starting to get more normal. My Dad left today for home, he will surely be missed. He has been cooking for us all week and playing with Abram like there's no tomorrow. Abram loves his Grandpa Hutzley. My mom-in-law is here until Tuesday and has been so great to have around, we'll see how things go after she leaves. My own sweet mother left the day before I left for home, she stayed in the hospital with me for 3 weeks!

I have one more dose of Rituxan, the drug that has been killing my new generation B-cell antibodies that were responsible for this whole mess, this coming Tuesday at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital. After that we're just going to have to do some lab work checkups for a while and I'll continue to taper off my prednisone......the death of me irritable, funny feeling, and that has made my face a balloon :o)

I am so blessed. Thank you all for all the prayers and fasting on me and my family's behalf, it works and I felt it and I am so grateful. We had lots of wonderful experiences through this trial.

Now for the fun part, a few photos of my prized little boys.........it's been so fun to have a newborn in the house. Jeremiah is such a light in our lives.

Thanks to the Hill's we have matching PJs for the boys..they are SOO cute! Thanks Marta :o) I haven't been able to get out and do any shopping. The perfect gift!

Hopefully I can keep my act together and more stuff will be coming.....we'll see what sleep deprivation brings. Love you all! It's so good to be home.

Update

So things haven't been going as well as hoped for. Heather's spleenectomy didn't fix her TTP. She has been moved to The Huntsman Cancer Hospital for more treatment. She continues to have pheresis daily and has started some new medication as well as a chemotherapy drug called Retuxan. Her platelet counts are slowly rising, but not high enough for her to go home on outpatient treatment.

On the up side- the new hospital has made accomodations for grandma and baby Jeremiah to be there too. So Heather is able to have him around to keep her mind off things. She still misses Abram, and Jordan is able to visit when not at class. Abram has made a few visits with grandpa too.

Jerermiah turned two weeks old yesterday. Here are a few more pictures of the cutie and his family:

The story- shortened version-
Heather was hospitalized on January 6 at 36 weeks pregnant from complications with TTP. She had TTP when Abram was born. So this was a possibility, but still unexpected as things had been going smoothly up to this point. She was given plasmapheresis in hopes that it would elevate her platelet count. After several days of pheresis her counts were not improving as they should have. The doctors decided to deliver the baby by C-section 3 weeks premature to hopefully get Heather better. (After Abram was born Heather was able to recover fully from the TTP on her own.) Five days after the delivery of Jeremiah Heather's platelet counts were still not improving, even with treatment. Her red blood cell count was also low. Doctors decided that they needed to remove Heather's spleen. Last night they did that. It was a scary situation, but Heather pulled through the surgery. Today her counts are being monitored every six hours and have been slowly rising all day. She is still facing the possibility of a few other treatments and is still in the hospital.

Baby Jeremiah is home with big brother Abram and his Grandma. He is healthy, doing well, and very cute as expected.

Heather would appreciate any emails to cheer her up. It is not always possible for her to answer her phone, but you could leave her a voice mail or send her a text to let her know that you are thinking of her. As you can imagine, it is really hard on her to be separated from her children and especially her new baby.

I will try and update her blog on her condition as things progress. We are hoping to have her home and her sweet baby Jeremiah in her arms as soon as possible.

Pumpkin Patch 2010

Happy Halloween! We headed to the pumpkin patch by our house, it's the perfect week because Jordan has the whole week off school. It was a really cute patch, perfect for toddlers. There was a little petting zoo, a toddler size hay maze, corn pit, a hayride, and they gave us shears to go cut our pumpkins of choice right off the vine. Abram had a blast picking out his pumpkin at first, saying things like, "no too big" and "no green", it was cute. He then became easily distracted by all the mud and rocks and Jordan ended up picking the pumpkins out for all of us while we threw rocks at the leaves of the pumpkins. We had a good time with some new friends, the Tanners, that we met in the MBA program, they have a little boy Abram's age and a little baby girl. The biggest event for Abram was the tractor ride, as you can see below. He was SOO excited. I have exposed my growing belly and body below also, something I am not fond of doing, but must do for my posterity. Plus Abram is so cute in some of the pictures with me, that I had to post them. He will finally smile and say cheese for pictures, but you have to be quick, he won't hold the pose for long! He's too busy to be posing all day for the camera. When we got home, Abram wanted to "cut" the pumpkin, he was super sad when I told him we weren't carving them until it was closer to Halloween. I'll have to post some of that, should be interesting, and messy!

Since April...

Abram's friend brought him a crown over today for a playdate, he was telling me he was a king like Max (from the book Where the Wild Things Are)



Abram's first BYU game, he lasted until halftime. He liked watching the players "fall down," and cosmo cheer at the crowd. I forgot pics in the stadium, this is in the Tanner building parking lot, where Daddy spends his life these days at school, on the way to the car and home at halftime. Abram is peeved in this pic, he wanted to get down.

It's been a while! I am doing a quick post to update :o) It's pretty sad that I haven't written anything since April. Here's what's been going on.
1. Jordan was accepted into BYU's MBA program!
2. We found out we are having another baby, it's a BOY, and I am due January 30. I am 25 wks. along. I haven't had any major issues, I feel so blessed!
3. We moved to Springville, UT for Jordan to start school. We are loving it here, but of course missing our old friends and co-workers.
4. Abram is growing like a weed. It's too hard to catch up on all that he's learned, done, and said in the past 6 months but I will try and be better at sharing how cute and smart our son is from now on. He's a character and I am REALLY enjoying staying home with him here in UT, I am not working. I miss my old job, but being a mother is what life's about :o)

Abram Turns 2!

Abram with his wrapped baby Elmo from Grandma Hutzley. He loves babies, dolls and real babies alike and loves to hold them all wrapped up in his blanky. He super loves putting them in his high chair and buckling them in or pushing them in the stroller or his grocery cart. He'll be a good daddy some day.

We made the mistake of letting him open presents in whatever order he wanted, well he opened the vacuum first and then did not want to do anything else but get it open and play with it. It was a bummer he didn't want to have anything to do with the other gifts. Luckily, he plays with the others now too.




Going for a stroll with Daddy on his new Cars trike, a close second favorite to his vacuum. He can say "Queen" for Lighning Mcqueen, as well as all of the other characters from the movie.



He did not want to stop playing for the blowing out of candles, so he was sung to and blew them out all by himself on his trike. Our friends made the cake for us, I just went out and bought the pan. It was really cute and Abram loved it!





Okay so Abram loved picking up these balloons for his party, he was having a blast with them. unfortunately he hates pictures and won't ever smile for us!! Stinker! He seriously WAS overjoyed but he barely has a smirk here.



Just waking up the day after his birthday, toting Elmo around and vacuuming, oh the buzzing of that toy.......I wish I wouldn't have put in the batteries!!

That morning after he woke up and I asked him do you remember your Birthday and he automatically said bike, and vacuum and got really excited to get downstairs and start playing again. I can't believe he's 2 already. We love him so much, it's been a wonderful 2 years :o)
